The “UNITED RUSSIA” Party Project "Saint-Petersburg - the Sea Capital RUSSIA. Sea tourism" is aimed at solving problems of sea and river tourism development, the latter is especially actula for the Altai region as an area rich in water resources.

A variety of landforms, dense river network makes interesting water tours available in the territory of our region.  Travelling by various tourist vessels is possible here: excursion boats routes on the Ob, äî sport extreme rafting with overcoming difficult rapids on rafts, catamarans, kayaking (the Katun, the Peschanaya, Charysh with feeders Kumir, Korgon, etc.)

Voyage on the Ob from its streamhead near Biisk to Barnaul and then to the Ob reservoir, Novosibirsk and Salekhard was implemented on a cruise ship previously. We consider it expedient to revive the trip on the Ob within the framework of the Federal Target Programme "Development of river and sea tourism in the Russian Federation".

In this context we support the idea of holding the III International Conference "Saint-Petersburg - the Sea Capital of RUSSIA. Sea tourism".
