GlobalPORT-2015 «St.Petersburg - the Sea Capital of Russia. Transport Security»

March 25-26, 2015 the V International Forum «Transport security» took place in Saint-Petersburg within the «UNITED RUSSIA» Party Project «Saint-Petersburg - the Sea Capital of Russia». The aim of the Forum was to elaborate effective solutions directed to maintain operational stability of Russian transport system in the context of growing traffic flow and potential terrorist threat.


The forum was be held with the assistance and participation of both chambers of Federal Assembly of the RF, Transport ministry of the Russian Federation, relevant ministries and institutions. More than 500 people from 40 regions of the Russian Federation and 20 foreign countries participated.
The Forum included business programme and an exhibition.


Business programme traditionally touched issues of anti-terrorism security and process safety in transport sector. Particular emphasis was given to state and statutory regulation in sphere of integrated safety of transport, issues of international cooperation concerning transport safety precautions, technologies of accident reduction for all types of transport.


Forum participants discussed safety problems of passenger transportation and freight traffic which were typical for air, rail road and automobile transport. Master classes from officials was also organized.

Along with business programme there also was an exhibition. It gave an option of combining demonstration of information technologies and discussion about topical issues of security. Modern equipment for transport security management, projects concerning creation of safe transport environment, information and communication systems and technologies and transport security services were demonstrated.


The main result of the event was  a resolution with propositions and recommendations from forum participants which was sent to special-purpose committees of Upper and Lower Houses of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, relevant ministries and institutions for transport security legislation advancement.
