Representatives of the project “Saint Petersburg — the Sea Capital of Russia” visited radio presenter.


Representatives of the project “Saint Petersburg — the Sea Capital of Russia” of United Russia party visited one of leading radio stations of the city “Radio of Russia – St-Petersburg”. U.A. Utkin, Regional Coordinating Officer of the project of the Perm Territory, vice-chairman of City Duma of Perm, tells about tasks and objectives of the project, importance of St-Petersburg in Russian transport network development and The VII International Forum “Transport and Transit Potential” which took place, October 9-10, in St-Petersburg.


While answering the questions of the presenter, Yuri Utkin underlined that event going under the project, are the living platform which serves for transport topical questions discussion. According to the results of each forum those decisions are taken which lie at the root of further steps of different federal and regional departments.


Decision of launching of federal infrastructure project “Saint Petersburg — the Sea Capital of Russia” was taken in December 2006. It is directed to practical solutions of concrete issues related to transport and transit potential development, safety and staff assistance of transport complex, Russian water objects defense from negative anthropogenic effect, service quality improvement in regard to water tourism etc. The project is not only point of contact between different territorial entities of the RF which have the same problems but also an effective discussion platform for experts of transport, logistic and ecologic spheres.

The Leningrad Region threw open the doors for world community


Strategies of transport complex development in St-Petersburg and Leningrad region  are developed by Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.  Konstantin Polnov, chairman of housing, public utilities and transport committee of the Leningrad Region told about it on The VII International Forum “Transport and Transit Potential”  


Creation of transport-logistics and distribution center in European part of Russia, liquidation of carrying capacity limitation, construction of high-speed railways and highways, development of air transport system are top targets of the program.      

  
Implementation of  transport complex development program  in St-Petersburg is planned up to 2020. Initiated measures will establish favourable conditions for economy and transit potential of the region and will help to turn the Leningrad region to wide gate of Russia which will be open to international barter, tourism, business and cultural contacts.

The Crimean issue is at the agenda

The issues about the state and prospects of the further development of Crimea’s transport system will open the second day of the VII International Forum “Transport and Transit Potential”, which takes place in October 9-10, 2014 in Saint-Petersburg in light of the “UNITED RUSSIA” Party’s Project “Saint Petersburg – the Sea Capital of Russia”. “The Republic of Crimea in the Russian and international transportation system” conference will bring together the representatives of authorities, transport companies and financial organizations.

Return of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation has set complicated challenges for the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. According to the head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov, the main task for today is the most effective integration of the Crimean Federal District into a single transport system of Russia.

The participants of the Forum will discuss the system of road, rail and water transportations in Crimea and its merger with the transport hub of the Russian Federation. The topical theme of the increasing pressure on ferry transportation to the Crimea has drawn attention to the necessity of the Kerch bridge building. The construction of the bridge is already planned to start in autumn. According to the experts and analysts opinion, the combined road-rail bridge from the Crimean peninsula to Taman is able to improve the state of cargo traffic between the Crimea and the Russian Federation.
