Dear Colleagues!
Today, integration of Russia into the international transport network is one of promising areas of the state policy. Due to Russia’s beneficial geopolitical position our country may play the crucial role in providing traffic and developing successful trade and economic relations between Europe and Asia, at the same time fulfilling its national interests and making the Russian Federation one the strongest transport states.
The issues of development of the country’s transport system are important to representatives not only of transport sphere but of related industries as well. The III International conference “St. Petersburg – the sea capital of RUSSIA. Transport and transit potential” is to unite the participants of foreign and domestic transport markets for working out possible solutions of topical problems of this sector.
I express confidence that the conference “Transport and transit potential” will once again justify its status of the high-level event supporting initiatives of regional and federal government structures and business communities for modernization of transport sphere.

Transport and logistics sector of Russia’s economy as an engine for trade and economic relations should develop in accordance with up-to-date requirements. Stabilization of economic situation requires immediate fulfillment of the existing tasks on increasing traffic capacity of routes and their correspondence to the international standards.
In conditions of world economic globalization it is the interstate relations that stimulate further development. Modernization of transit corridors, improvement of legal basis that regulates transport sphere will strengthen the status of Russia as a reliable partner, open new growth prospects. In this respect methodical work of governmental authorities and business communities and forming of one view-point on development is necessary.
Annual conferences of the Project of the “UNITED RUSSIA” Party “St. Petersburg – the sea capital of RUSSIA” is a good possibility to discuss current issues of transport and transit potential of Russia and promising areas of further development of the transport sphere in detail.
I wish success to the participants of the conference. |
